When should you engage a business consultant?
The simple answer is ALWAYS or NEVER. A consultant is not a one-off purchase one makes when in trouble or a difficult business situation. A consultant is a long-term partner with whom you build a trusting relationship for your mutual benefit. The consultant is there to measure, monitor and analyse so as to be able to make constant suggestions of improvement which result in value being created throughout the duration of the relationship.

Why engage a business consultant?
The number one reason tends to be because you know him / her or someone you know knows him / her. This clearly is not the best reason. We think that the top three reasons are:
  • Because what gets measured gets done;
  • Because the consultant can offer ‘quality of focus’;
  • Because the consultant’s success is directly linked to your success.
